A Fabulous Extravaganza to celebrate the spirit of Freedom
Nehru Bal Sangh spreads the ardour of patriotism in the capital through 5th edition of a magnificent extravaganza ‘Jashn-e Azadi 2017’ at Siri Fort Auditorium, New Delhi. Eminent personalities from different spheres like Ms. Shiela Dixit, Vinay Pathak, Korean Ambassador Mr. Lee Hac Kwang marked their presence at the event.
Sadhya, a unit of Performing Arts, directed and choreographed by Santosh Nair narrated the journey of India’s Independence from the period of golden age, to the British rule, to the liberating independence through the medium of dance and music. To add more zeal to the celebration, for the second time, Jashn e Azadi brought together 2 great countries of Asia; India & South Korea, on a single stage to celebrate the festival of Independence, as both the countries share their Independence day. The performers from South Korea, as well as local artists, showcased a glimpse of Korea’s culture through music, dance and martial arts.
The aim of Jashn-E-Azadi to invoke and instill a sense of pride and make the youth understand the factual meaning of independence, realize its importance and engage in the celebrations withmuch more enthusiasm, fervor, energy and pride, and not consider the festival as a mere holiday or vacation.
Sharing the event concept Ashok Sahota, President, Nehru Bal Sangh said, “We at Nehru Bal Sangh truly believe and live with the motto that India’s independence is the mother of all festivals and national celebration which each and every Indian should be a part of. It is much more than just a day off and this is also a reminder with a message to the generation of today which is forgetting the core of freedom. Jashn-e Azadi is a tribute to the countless sacrifice made by our countrymen for Independence and a showcase of our journey of nation building, after the independence, culmination into the fast rising global powerhouse that India is, today. It’s an effort to bring together the youth of the country and to draw them into building a better India. To convey this, we have been organizing Jashn- E Azadi since 2013, and we are thrilled to share that every year the participation is growing by leaps & bounds. The 2 week independence festival shall conclude with a Jashn-E Azadi Bike Rally on August 15 where approximately 100 Harley Davidson bikes will cover the length and breadth of the national capital on a pre designated route.”
Mr. Lee Hye Kwang, Charge d’ affaires, Embassy of the Republic of Korea I am so happy that we can celebrate Independence Day with India. Korean freedom fighters were inspired by Mahatma Gandhi during Korea’s struggles for freedom. Through this kind of cooperative celebration we are looking to strengthen the relationship between India and Korea and pave the way for an everlasting friendship for the coming generation.
