Movie Review: Great Grand Masti not so great after all

Great Grand Masti is the third part of the Masti franchise, which hit the theaters in India on 15th July (Friday) but besides the unfortunate story line, the movie got leaked online 2 weeks before its release. This sequel was supposed to be a horror comedy willing to start a new genre in bollywood, but with the trilogy’s hard luck, you will suffer a headache after watching the film.

This movie is no better than the rest of the movies and had a hint of similarity with the first part where Amar (Riteish Deshmukh), Meet (Vivek Oberoi) and Prem (Aftab Shivdasani) sneak out of their marriages, unsatisfied with their sex lives to indulge in infidelity, and later get their eyes on the same woman. However, in this part you will find them being haunted by a gorgeous ghost (Urvashi Rautela), wanting to satisfy her own sexual needs. The movie is an adult comedy, and was supposed to have light and tolerable jokes as quoted by the actors during the promotions, but the vulgarity didn’t seem to find its finish line. As the monotonous story line goes, these three men are out for some cheap thrills and get stuck in an unusual haunting of a stunning ghost. Urvashi, former Miss India, is looking beautiful as ever in the movie but we doubt her bollywood career would take off with a flop like this.

The movie could have had better humour content to entertain its audience but didn’t seem to do so at the box office. It also has a baseless ending, where she finds her peace with another ghost that she had indirectly killed during the movie. With the online leak, the movie is bound to face financial losses and criticism regarding its weak plot.
