New Delhi: Ace flutist Pt. Hariprasad Chaurasia enthralled the audience at Chinmay Mission with his magical performance. He was invited to perform at the musical night ‘Divine Flute’ organized by Parichay Foundation. Padma Vibhushan Pandit Hari Prasad Chaurasia ji accompanied by Vivek Sonar and Ram Kumar Mishra. The musical tones of the flute reverberated in the venue; the evening that started with Raag Durga. Pt. Churasia involved audience and played the requested tunes.
The event commenced with welcoming the guests by Parichay Foundation chief Rosalin Patasani Mishra. The event was inaugurated by the Union Minister Maneka Sanjay Gandhi and Bhubaneswar MP Dr. P.K. Patasani.
Parichay Foundation Founder Rosalin Patasani informed that, “Parichay Foundation organisaing Divine Flute event to raise fund for School and empowering women and will give skill based training to women in Bhubaneswar Slum.”
Chaurasia ji, a highly renowned musician whose repertoire of Eastern classical music has made him a respected figure across India, has been honoured with several awards throughout his career including the prestigious Padma Vibhushan, the second highest civilian award of India, and the distinction of Chevalier dans l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres (Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters) of France.
He also serves as the Artistic Director of the World Music Department at the Rotterdam Music Conservatory in the Netherlands.
