DarbariLal DAV Model School, Shalimar Bagh believes that Education must create well balanced human beings who not only achieve but learn to live and love life. With this objective, the school organized a mega Art festival-Bohemia on Saturday, April 7, 2018.
The festival, a brain child of Principal, Ms. Reena Rajpal, aimed to provide a platform to young artists to showcase their artistic skills and feel joy in the process of creation. About 400 students from thirty schools of Delhi came together and participated in activities ranging from caricature and portrait making to folk art, panel and spatula painting, graffiti, paper craft, best out of waste, pebble painting and clay modelling. The participants were thrilled with the certificates and hand painted terracotta pots that they received as souvenirs.
The school campus was dressed up beautifully showcasing the work of students. Folk and contemporary dance performances, live orchestra and singing provided a perfect backdrop and motivated the budding artists to paint their hearts out!The event was graced by eminent and celebrated artists, Mr. Ravindra Kumar Tanwar and Ms. BalwinderTanwar, School Chairman, Mr. Ajay Suri, Ms. AlkaArya, Mrs. Universe creative 2017, Mr. Harsh Arora, Founder of NGO, SarthakPrayasand accomplished school alumni Ms. Ruchiekka Krishnani and Ms. Loveleen. The show stoppers, however, were the 25 underprivileged children from NGO, Sarthak Prayas. Principal Ms. Rajpal believes that spreading happiness in the lives of others is the true purpose of education and encouraged the students to experience this joy first hand.
The guests were all praise for the school’s endeavour to promote Art in such a passionate way and congratulated the Principal for organizing this one of a kind event. With color, music and dance Bohemia was a treat to the senses and led to the generation of a tremendous amount of creativity, positivity and bonhomie all around. Education’s purpose truly fulfilled!
