Auditorium packed with audience was mesmerized by the overwhelming performance by Fateh Ali Khan & Mahua shankar on the occasion of IBTEEDA , Classical Music Evening at Indian Habitat Centre, New Delhi. Paying tribute to his Legend Gurus Ustad Siddique Ahmed khan, Guru Satish Kumar and Ustad Shamshuddin Faridi Desai, Fateh Ali khan said “Classical music is the part of our culture, it belongs to our soul, touches our heart. No matters what Genre of music comes and go classical music carries its essence always. Today I’m here to pay tribute to my Gurus who introduced to the love of Classical music and power of Sitar. I’m glad to everyone who joined today to show respect to my gurus.” The performance was accompanied by great eminent Artists: Ustad Akram Khan (Tabla), Murad Ali Khan (Sarangi), Imran Khan (Vocal), Nupur Shankar (Padhant) and Amaan Ali Khan (Tabla). About Fateh Ali -Belongs to the sixth generation of Classical Music Family from Moradabad Gharana, Fateh Ali Khan is the 1st Sitar player of his family . Fateh has performed in Major Music Festivals in INDIA & ABROAD, GERMANY, AUSTRIA, ITALLY, SWITZERLAND, ROMANIA, U.K. He has also performed with The World Famous Pop Icon “LADY GAGA” and The Great Legendary (Beatles) Mr. “John Lennon’s wife and a Great Singer and Artist “YOKO ONO”. Fateh was initiated into Vocal music from an early age of seven by his grand father Late “Ustad Siddique Ahmed Khan Sahab, who was the undisputed Sarangi maestro. For a short spell of the tender age he found his joy “SITAR” which he was initiated into by the Great Sitar maestro Shri “Satish Kumar ji” who belongs to Dharwar. He then took Sitar training under the Late ‘Ustad Shamshuddin Faridi Desai’ who was The Great maestro and eminent Performer of “SITAR & BEEN”.
